The Coast Guard gives the DEA in San Juan, Puerto Rico custody of nine traffickers and offloads $7.4 million worth of cocaine.

Puerto Rico's San Juan At Coast Guard Base San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Friday,

the crew of Coast Guard Cutter Charles David Jr. offloaded and gave custody of 245 kilograms of cocaine

nine alleged smugglers to Drug Enforcement Administration officials.

The Caribbean Corridor Strike Force Initiative, Operation Unified Resolve,

the Coast Guard's Western Hemisphere Strategy, and other multi-agency activities led to the interdiction and seizure of the contraband,

which is estimated to have a $7.4 million wholesale value

In this instance, the investigation is being headed by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The Coast Guard Cutter Heriberto Hernández crew discovered a suspicious vessel early on June 3, 2024

about 75 nautical miles south of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
